It is a journey undertaken by multiple voices within the sound quality of language, but it is also a search for a vocality that blends into the environment in which it is diffused. The voice draws and informs space, becoming the sound and substance of a body or a resonant bodily action; it becomes rhythm, an event in the air, atmosphere, imprint, and call. It can weave a melodic line counterpointed by gesture and articulate words, conveying images and meanings. Sound, in its various forms, calls us to be together, from the effusion of folklore to the secret of an intimate concert.\nSilvia Mai is a dancer, mountain shepherdess, and art therapist in training. Her artistic journey has been marked by encounters with Raffaella Giordano, Silvia Rampelli, Dominique Dupuy, Claudia Dias, and Anna Paola Bacalov, as well as her experience on stage as a performer and author. After a few years of artistic silence, during which she learned about and practiced the life of a shepherd, she resumed her artistic research with “Prospettive Animali” (Animal Perspectives), created for the Danae Festival 2021, and her work as a performer (in ‘Desert’ by Leonardo Delogu and “To Repel Ghosts/Letter to the Father” by Gennaro Lauro). In 2023, she began training in Anthroposophical Art Therapy at the Cinabro Europeo in Milan. She is the creator of “Raku” (GD’A Veneto Award 2012), “Prospettive Animali” (2021), a study for “Oikos/SONO” (winner of the Tuttoteatro Dante Cappelletti Award 2024), and the video projects ‘Kyou’ and “Dentro” (2024).\n
