Caring with, interdependency is cool explores the concept of care as an anti-capitalist practice in opposition to capitalist neglect, reflecting on power dynamics starting from adult supremacy. The term Caring with (“taking care with”) refers to how we mobilise ourselves on a political and social level in order to transform our world. The research of Caring with, interdependency is cool lies within the bodies of those who participate, within large bodies and small bodies, together.

The project takes the form of an open, participatory device, capable of activating itself only through the presence and actions of those who take part in it, founded on listening and on the shared responsibility of activation. The creation becomes a field of coexistence that generates worlds, produces thought and allows complexities to emerge through the body and play. We seek to give voice and visibility to the non-adult world in order to shift the references through which we inhabit the world and experiment with new ecosystems based on care, relation and play, starting from presence and movement. We are driven by the desire to create a temporary community around the research: an open group that gathers and composes the experiment together with us. The games, or exercises, through the continuity of the proposal, write practices of being together.

Michela Depetris is an author and performer, associated artist of Codeduomo. She works with hybrid languages between dance, writing, video, sound and participatory installations, placing her research within an open and mixed field in which every medium always leads back to the body and bodily practices, towards an expanded vision of choreography. She designs choreographic-performative devices as potential triggers for temporary micro-revolutions.
