Dream Wide Awake is a collective experiment focused on rest, ritual and immersive art, reviving the ancient tradition of collective dreaming in a contemporary cultural landscape. We recognise that in modern cities, rest has become a luxury, imagination is undervalued and shared quiet is rare. Yet, across civilisations, from Greek temples to the resting traditions of the African diaspora to indigenous dreaming practices, sleep has been understood as a place of knowledge, healing and community. The project sits within this tradition: it is both homage and innovation. We transform sacred architecture into a contemporary sanctuary of dreaming, not as nostalgia, but as forward-thinking cultural inquiry. Through sound, light and collective presence, we cultivate a soft space where visitors are encouraged to slow down, let go of vigilance and allow subconscious intelligence to surface. We believe that rest is generative, slowness is resistance, and dreams are a common resource.

An immersive performance that includes an overnight stay at Lavanderia a Vapore. Inflatable mattresses will be provided, but we recommend bringing a sleeping bag and pillow…and above all, your coolest pajamas!
