Spring Rolls refers in its name to a rite of passage, a new beginning, but also to a synaesthetic explosion of different ingredients held together by a roll-like embrace, a new shared skin.
Celebrating the subversive awakening of the senses and spring, Spring Rolls is a festival of ritual actions, performances, hybrid artistic experiments and participatory activities scattered throughout the Lavanderia space, the urban and natural landscape of Collegno and beyond, as an act of decentralisation, a radical action of losing balance towards many other places.
Against segregation and the norm of conduct, being outside is a reappropriation of the body, of a silent relationship with plant and animal ecosystems, with matter full of life that we believe to be defenceless: a paradigm that challenges reductionism to what is equal to us, to a linear space-time with a vibrant panorama of many beautiful forms, in which time is made up of inflections and regressions as well as space stratified on multiple planes, heterotopias that do not disdain the margins and the underground.
The festival aims to offer a space to mend the collective body, an area of encounter with the Other and to summon formulas of togetherness.
An excess that challenges the logic of utilitarianism, of the necrotic repetition of the identical, of the atrophy of the imagination, in order to enliven disillusionment with a new enchantment thanks to the lifeblood infused by the multicoloured and disordered voices of many living beings.
