Un peu pour mon cœur… is a choreographic project by Dalila Belaza inspired by memories of family gatherings in Algeria during her childhood. Inspired by her encounter with Nabil Djedouani (founder of the Archives Numériques du Cinéma Algérien), the artist explores her Algerian roots through female song and dance, oral traditions and rituals, realising that this folk dance is the result of communion and collective listening rather than the expression of identity or individuality. Therefore, the creation invites us to enter a state of collective exultation and trance, in which the body becomes a vibrant instrument of transmission. The project cultivates an expanded perception of rhythm and musicality, based on frequencies shared between body, voice and sound. At its core is the search for a sensitive, fluid and non-divisive experience, capable of going beyond simple identity representation.

Dalila Belaza did not begin her artistic career dancing, but listening. Raised in Algeria, in the oral tradition of her family, she transforms the stories and atmospheres of her past into bodily landscapes. For almost thirty years, she has been deconstructing the theme of identity, rejecting all spectacle: for her, dance is mystery, research and listening. After years of creating alongside her sister Nacera Belaza, with whom she shares themes, she founded her own company, hiya, in 2019. Her works (“Au cœur”, “Figures”, “Rive”) combine ritual memory and contemporary dance in search of a third, universal and timeless space. An artist associated with La Briqueterie (2024–2026), her practice is an act of openness to otherness rooted in deep listening to the body.
