Étape Danse is a trilater project for international coreographic residencies, it aims to promote the new promising creations from France, Germany and Italy. The programme, initiated by the Bureau du Théâtre et de la Danse/ Institut français Deutschland, is born as a collaboration between fabrik Potsdam, La Maison centre de développement chorégraphique national Uzès Gard Occitanie, Théâtre de Nîmes, and since January 2019 INTERPLAY, international festival of contemporary dance, Turin, in collaboration with Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo – Circuito Regionale Multidisciplinare del Piemonte and Lavanderia a Vapore.
The project fulfill at its best its intenational vocation, supporting every year three talented companies, Italian, German and a French, selected by the partners. In Germany, the Fabrik Potsdam will host in August the three companies, giving to them the opportunity of a wide cultural exchange, a meeting enlarged with the professionals that will attend the festival ‘Tanz im August’. In Italy, Mosaico Danza/Interplay and Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo will host the French company at the end of September 2019 and the German company in May 2020, right in proximity with Interplay festival. As part of the exchange, the German company will be resident at the Théâtre de Nîmes in September 2019, whereas the Italian one will be host at the Maison centre de développement chorégraphique national Uzès Gard Occitanie in February 2020.
