A trajectory involving teenagers, young artists, and trainers, capable of regenerating the tissue of Lavanderia a Vapore. Training grounds for questioning current methods of “schooling” and practising the creation of alternative scenarios for the exchange of knowledge.

Activities

SCHOOL OF EMOTIONS
May 2025 –  November 2026

In an era when emotional and sexual education is still taboo, young people fill this void by creating informal, independent networks aimed at sharing questions and experiences.

School of Emotions leverages these underlying dynamics, forming alliances and activating spaces where adolescents can reactivate their sensory awareness and emotional intelligence through practices and moments of discussion. It is a place of pleasure built by young people for themselves, where freedom of action and responsibility serve as a springboard for creating a school of emotions together.

The School of Emotions project is supported by the Erasmus+ programme and involves a group of about 30 teenagers from Italy (Lavanderia a Vapore), Iceland (Reykjavík Dance Festival) and Norway (Rosendal Teater). For the Italian group, it will be developed in three stages:

  • A residential period between 7 and 13 May 2026, which will intertwine with the Spring Rolls festival (8-10 May 2026)
  • A residential period between 20 and 26 June;
  • Online meetings with the Icelandic and Norwegian boards, with a final event in November 2026 at the Reykjavík Dance Festival in Reykjavík.
Curated by Chiara Organtini, Carlotta Pedrazzoli and Edoardo Urso (Lavanderia a Vapore), in collaboration with the artists team: Fabio Castello, Francesca Cinalli, Paolo De Santis and Valentina Roselli

IL CORPO DOCENTE
January – May 2026

In an educational context that relies on quantitative dogmas and logical-mathematical criteria, how can we refocus on the principles of quality and feeling? And where does all the knowledge that comes from the body fit in? How does this help us escape loneliness and build networks of affection together?

Il Corpo Docente is a training journey aimed at teachers of any discipline, trainers, and educators. It is an alchemical laboratory in which to experiment with alternative ways of building a school of the impossible, combining movement practices with the knowledge of guests who are more or less related to the pedagogical or artistic context.

Now in its third edition, Il Corpo Docente opens a door onto the system of affections as a form of uninterrupted exchange of knowledge and imagery that triangulates between the body, pedagogy, and the unknown. It is an after-school programme that invites us to explore fascinating ways to create and recreate systems based on the flow of perception-emotion-affection.

The project is scheduled for one Saturday per month, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno.

CAMPI GRAVITAZIONALI
November 2026 – May 2026

A project curated by Francesca Cinalli and Paolo De Santis – Compagnia Tecnologia Filosofica, in collaboration with Lavanderia a Vapore, created as part of Tecnologia Filosofica’s Campi Creativi project.

Campi Gravitazionali consists of a programme of meetings aimed at young people interested in sharing a period of exploration and study through the artistic processes underway at Lavanderia. It is a space for intellectual, philosophical, spiritual, playful and personal growth: artistic practices, exercises, composition methods and research methods that encourage the exchange of experiences between young people, artists in residence and cultural project leaders.

From November to February, the group will explore the background of Lavanderia, all those underground systems that support the actions and people who inhabit this place. From the vaporousness of the unfinished to systems of narration and relationship; from liquid archiving practices to the darkness of Dark MatterS.

  • From March to May, it will re-emerge to meet, with a new awareness, artists in residence.
  • 22 and 23 November 2025, visit to Lavanderia a Vapore’s Research Camping
  • 20 December 2025, with Teresa Priano and Edoardo Urso – Resonances
  • 24 and 25 January 2026, with Eugenia Coscarella and Kadri Sirel – Liquid Archive
  • 14 and 15 February 2026, visit to Dark MatterS
  • 7 and 8 March 2026, with Fabritia D’Intino
  • 18 and 19 April 2026, with Giovanfrancesco Giannini
  • 9 and 10 May, visit to Spring Rolls

ARTISTS RESIDENCIES AT SCHOOL
February 2026

Artist Residencies are creative processes that can fuel both the artist’s own research and the creativity of the communities that take part in them. For this reason, Lavanderia a Vapore proposes a meeting between schools and the arts sector, in which work is shared and expanded upon based on the considerations of the students themselves.

The residencies will involve two classes at the Primo Liceo Artistico in Turin.

For the dance section: CORPORALE by Aristide Rontini, with Erica Pianalto, from 9 to 13 February 2026, with a public performance as part of the Dark MatterS festival (13-15 February 2026).
For the art section: DREAM WIDE AWAKE by Bambi Benkö, from 2 to 6 February 2026.

A bit of history…

Forever Young – Lavanderia a Vapore’s program dedicated to younger generations – builds on the long-standing legacy of Media Dance (find out more). Since 2016, the educational innovation project has been working closely with local schools, investigating with students and teachers the positive impact that performing arts can have when incorporated into an educational context. The work of artists and cultural curators has revealed an urgent need on the part of young people to be heard: increasingly subject to duties, censorship and imperatives, the voices of adolescents are being “made invisible”. At the same time, teachers experience isolation from their colleagues, struggling with bureaucracy and the “appropriate number of assessments”. The school environment is home to conflicting poles, which not only expose the cracks in its system but also impose a vertical structure between those who teach and those who learn. In 2024, Lavanderia a Vapore involved a research community made up of students, teachers and artists, who shared and experimented with practices for transforming the educational environment.
