For the 2026 edition, Workspace Ricerca X aims to further explore and investigate the relationship between dramaturgy and artistic research. After dedicating a specific focus to practice and critical thinking, the intention is now to observe the interactions and areas of intersection between research practices and dramaturgical practices, starting from the question: can we imagine a dramaturgy of research? Once again this year, the project will activate a complex research environment, shaped through shared residency sessions involving hosted artists, guests and artist-curators. Within a horizontal format based on the exchange of practices, self-learning and peer coaching, research and dramaturgy will be explored as interconnected practices, continuing to cultivate critical thinking and discursive reflection around artistic processes and making.

Workspace Ricerca X – Research and Dramaturgy is a platform dedicated to the development and support of artistic research and dramaturgy within the fields of choreography and performance. Founded in 2016 with the aim of disseminating, questioning and legitimising artistic research in the Italian context, it addresses professionals working in dance and performing arts. Through shared residency modules involving participating artists, curators and guests, the project activates an intense process of reflective dialogue starting from each participant’s practices and research materials. The aim is to focus on individual methodologies and working tools, while deepening each artist’s creative trajectory. Workspace Ricerca X moves from the desire to consolidate a culture of artistic research in Italy, creating spaces where alternative approaches to artistic work can be practised beyond conventional production dynamics. At its core is the creation of networks of alliances and the circulation of knowledge generated through artistic practices.

As part of Tanz Tanz | Visions and Practices of Play, Art, and Dance, a project by Associazione Didee curated by Mariachiara Raviola within the framework of *La Piattaforma – Nuovi corpi, nuovi sguardi* and in collaboration with Lavanderia a Vapore as part of the 2026/2027 Vaporwave program

A dance and movement practice that connects children and adults through the body, physical contact, and live music. Through touch and proximity, bodies become landscapes to be explored and listened to—spaces where weight, gravity, and shared balance can be experienced together. The dance emerges from mutual listening, moving between supporting, allowing oneself to be supported, and respecting boundaries. Live music accompanies and permeates the movement, creating a space for spontaneous composition where sound and body meet and transform one another. Adults and children are invited to play with all the elements involved, weaving them together in the here and now to create a constantly evolving composition.
The workshop stems from the experience of Dancefloor Kids, a practice Nika has been developing since 2019.

The duo Panzetti/Ticconi continues to investigate the aesthetic transformations that power has taken on and undergone throughout history, oscillating between the definition of ideals of beauty and acts and representations of cruelty. The metamorphosis between beauty and cruelty, understood as antithetical yet fraternal imaginaries, will be the main focus of this residency period, in which the colour red will remain the only constant element of a metamorphic device involving bodies and objects. The research moves towards the possibility of a scenic writing in which images open up a perceptive and emotional space, where attraction and disturbance coexist.

Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi live between Berlin and Turin and have been working together as an artistic duo since 2008. Their research develops across the fields of dance, performance and visual arts. Through an exploration of themes connected to the historical relationship between communication, violence and power, they draw from ancient imaginaries, constructing figures and hybrid images between history and contemporaneity. Their work gained international recognition with Harleking (2018) and continues through projects that investigate the symbol and its political dimension. Since 2020, they have expanded their practice by collaborating with international companies, including Dance On Ensemble, Studio Contemporary Dance Company, T.H.E Dance Company, Dance Theatre Heidelberg and Abbondanza/Bertoni. Their work has been presented at major international festivals and choreographic centres, with tours across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.

Archives manifest themselves in multiple forms: material, audiovisual and textual archives; digital and analogue archives, as well as bodily archives. What connects these different types of archives – particularly those of words, images, sounds and objects – is a tendency towards the ordering and organisation of the past, what Derrida defines as “the beginning and the commandment”: the place where power is exercised and from which things begin or originate. How can we visit a dance archive through the anarchic practice of anarchiving, which aims to undo order and systems of classification? How can we give life to an archive that has fixed movement within a fragment of time, in contrast with the constantly transforming nature of dance? In collaboration with Cro.me / Cronaca e Memoria dello Spettacolo, a private audiovisual archive that collects and preserves the memory of dance and performing arts, we conceive anarchiving as an open practice of immersion in the archive, in which the archive itself acts as a choreographic score capable of generating new materials that connect generations and artistic voices, transforming memory into a living matter.

Jacopo Jenna is a choreographer and director. His work investigates the perception of the body in relation to movement through a research practice that engages with choreography and video, exploring new possibilities for the embodiment of dance, moving across different languages and generating multiple performative contexts. He graduated in Sociology from the University of Urbino and continued his dance studies in the Netherlands at Codarts (Rotterdam Dance Academy). He works in education and training programmes for different age groups, developing new strategies for engaging with performing arts. His projects have been presented at international festivals and institutions.

Ariadne Mikou is a dance artist and researcher. Alongside her creative practice – which takes the form of participatory choreographies, choreographic scores, installations and short films – she collaborates with artists, festivals and institutions on dissemination and research projects focused on themes related to memory, transmission and interdisciplinarity. She writes for international journals and occasionally collaborates with Hystrio. Trimestrale di Teatro e Spettacolo. She contributes to academic publications exploring, beyond choreographic processes, screen dance, performance documentation and the relationship between performing arts, architecture and urban space. She collaborates with the cultural association NEXUS within the European project TRANScenDANCE: Trans people within Dance and Performative Spaces.

In You Are Not an Island, a body embraces the possibility of slipping into certain cracks and looking inside them. On a floor flooded with matches, traces of the invisible and possibilities of rewriting come together: unresolved movements that insist towards uncertain landscapes. The research aims to evoke a series of unfulfilled potentials that haunt the present – and therefore shape the future – by challenging the visible as the dominant regime. The spectral, the secret and the opaque become tools of suspension charged with transformative potential: unstable structures that cross the space and shift its perceptual order. Where are the cracks when there are no walls? How does an elsewhere seep through? A dance around an imaginary fire, a score for extraordinarily ambiguous matches, a desire that changes consistency.

Fabio Pronesti is a performer and interdisciplinary artist. His research operates at the intersection of movement and visual art, with the aim of investigating the haunted nature of the performative and the persistent traces that surround it. He trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London and later joined the postgraduate company VERVE in Leeds. In 2024 he took part in the “Nuove Traiettorie” programme promoted by Network Anticorpi. He is among the artists selected by the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris for the “Nouveau Grand Tour 25/26”, undertaking a research period at RAMDAM in Lyon. As a performer, he has worked and collaborated with Daniele Albanese, Faye Tan, Alessio Maria Romano, Roberto Cocconi and Agrupación Señor Serrano.

Creole cadences is an open-ended research project that develops from Inés Sybille’s publication of the same name. Body, collage, word, voice, and drawing come together in the studio to multiply the possibilities of performative activation.

Inés Sybille is a multidisciplinary artist from Catalonia. A dancer, visual artist, researcher, teacher, and choreographer, her work is influenced by notions of memory, diaspora, and spirituality. Her practice starts from a specific choreographic field that allows her to create unusual associations based on Haitian voodoo, Angolan kuduro, and Ivorian coupé-décalé.
