The training course Dancers for communities aims to provide the artistic and methodological foundations of contemporary community dance to new professionals, to promote the artistic and creative experience of dance with and for others, to broaden access to dance with communities through experiences of active participation in community dance and theatre interventions offered in the territory (Virgilio Sieni, Doriana Crema, Mariachiara Raviola, Rita M. Fabris). The training process intends to integrate the skills of dancers, dance teachers, professional educators, cultural workers, counselors and is open to 20 young and adult graduates. The course has started in January 2019 and ends in October 2021, with 261 hours of laboratory and frontal training and 140 hours of on-the-job training, internship and individual study. There are 4 thematic modules (The Body, The Group, The Space, Community Choreographies) conducted by contemporary and community dance professionals of national and international renown. The intensive meetings (one weekend a month and two residential meetings) are mainly hosted at Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno (TO).
