SCHOOL OF EMOTIONS

Curated by Chiara Organtini, Carlotta Pedrazzoli, and Edoardo Urso
With Fabio Castello, Francesca Cinalli, Paolo De Santis, Valentina Roselli, and Edoardo Urso

In an era where affective and sexual education remains a taboo, young people fill this void by weaving informal, autonomous networks aimed at exchanging questions and experiences. School of Emotions leverages these underlying dynamics, forging alliances and activating spaces where adolescents can reawaken their sensory awareness and emotional intelligence through specific practices and moments of dialogue. It is a space of pleasure – built by young people for themselves – where the freedom to act and the assumption of responsibility serve as a springboard for collectively creating a “school of affections.”
The School of Emotions project is supported by the Erasmus+ program and involves a group of approximately 30 young people from Italy (Lavanderia a Vapore), Iceland (Reykjavík Dance Festival), and Norway (Rosendal Teater).
Following two residential phases – the first at Lavanderia a Vapore (Collegno, Turin) and the second at Casa Motus (San Giovanni in Marignano, Rimini) – the project reaches its conclusion in November in Reykjavík, as part of the Reykjavík Dance Festival. Here, the groups will meet in person to continue their work and share their experience, using vocal expression as both a creative medium and a framework for building relationships.
